GENERAL QUESTIONS

How do I enter my fish?

You must take a picture of your fish along with the token and measuring stick (which will be provided at the captain’s meeting). In the message, please include your name, boat, the length and girth of the fish (to the nearest 1/4 inch.)

 

How do I measure length and girth? 

To determine the length: measuring the bass from the fork of the tail to the tip of

the chin. Then measure the fish’s girth by wrapping a tape around the body at the forward edge of the dorsal fin.

 

What are the tournament boundaries?

You may fish in any legal MA waters between the northern tip of Thatcher’s Island to the southern tip of Nahant and out east as far as the 3-mile Federal limit. GPS trails may be required to verify prizes.

 

Can I fish from shore or a Kayak?

Yes, you may but there is no specific divisions for those fishing from Shore or a kayak this year. You will compete against everyone in the angler division.

 

What are the GPS coordinates for the weigh in?

Where is the captains meeting?

The Captain’s meeting will be held the week prior to the tournament at a location TBD: Look for future announcements. It will be mandatory for at least one member of each crew to attend to review the rules and get your captains bag and tournament token.

 

Where do I park?

Park on Water Street, Under the bridge, The Harbormaster’s Office

 

Where do  I dock for the awards ceremony/BBQ?

The Awards Ceremony and leaderboard will be on the Dock at Glover Wharf. There will be volunteers assisting the boat traffic.

 

Can I hail a launch?

No. Unfortunately, Beverly Harbor has no launch service. You can, however, bring a dingy to the public doc for short term tie up.

AWARD CEREMONY/BBQ QUESTIONS

Can I bring in my picture to show the the tournament director if my picture doesn’t work? 

Yes, you can bring it in if for some reason you having technoloy issues between 10 and 11:00 AM on Saturday the 16th. (For tie breaking purposes, the time you bring the image in, will be the time you are assigned.)

 

Can I bring my family/friends if they aren’t fishing to the AFTER PARTY?

Yes. Your Registration entitles you to bring 3 guests for the complementary after party. Please let us know at the captains meeting how may will be attending so we can plan food appropriately.

Will there be alcohol at the AFTER PARTY?

YES! The City of Beverly has granted us a license to provide FREE beer at this years AFTER PARTY. You will need to be 21 plus with a wristband to drink (please bring an ID if you look under 40). Because we have an alcohol permit, you MAY NOT BRING your own into the AFTER PARTY.

 

Raffle: Auction: Can I put Raffle tickets and other items on a Credit Card? 

Unfortunately, we do not have a credit card scanner at the event. Please bring cash or a check.

 

Are there bathrooms/showers/Changing rooms at the BBQ?

There are restrooms, but no showers, the reason the tournament weigh-in is at noon and awards/party after starts at 1:30 is to provide folks time to clean up.

Can my company match a donation?

This is up to your company, the Baystate Charitable Foundation is a 501c3 and your donation is tax deductible.

 

Can I help on the committee next year?

Can I get a receipt?

Yes, You will get a receipt for your sign up as well as any donation

 

Where is the nearest fuel?

Closest Fuel is at Port Marine and Jubilee Yacht Club, less than .1 mile from the weigh in.

 

Where is the nearest Boat Ramp?

Beverly

There is a free public launch at Sandy Point in Beverly. Parking is sometimes limited on Weekends.

There is pay launch at the Beverly Bowl-o-Mat on Bridge Street (get a 1 day sticker inside the bowling alley)

Salem

There is a public launch at the Kernwood marina located at McCabe Park on the Salem side of Kernwood Avenue (about 1/4 mile up river from the awards ceremony) and one at Winter Island

Danvers

There is a public launch at Popes Landing in at the end of the Danvers River. 8 Harbor Street, Danvers, MA 01923
